The Upper Room
It was getting dark in the evening gloom
When the master entered in the upper room
And with him eleven apostles so true
One had turned traitor as the master well knew
The time now had come for God's will to be done
The great God was giving his only dear son
To spill out his life blood for men of good will
The dear kind Christ Jesus would pay Adam’s bill
And while they were dining the master took brеad
And with a prayer he broke it
And thеse are the words he said:
This is my body which is given for you
He delivers remembrance for the works you must do
He then took the cup and gave thanks over it
He said this is my blood you must drink every bit
It is shed for the many who will answer the call
To redeem falling mankind I gave them my all
Tears filled my eyes, there's no more to say
We all know the story of the next day
They seized our dear savior
They mocked him with scorn
Now to our savior the kingdom was born
The pieces of silver did Judas no good
He hung himself as Christ knew he would
But the fingers of God wove into life's loom
The memory of promise in the upper room
