Pale Blue Square
I used to stare at a pale blue square
A pale blue square- a pale blue square
I'd stare and stare when the weather was fair
I'd stare at the pale blue square
I used to stare at a pale blue square
A pale blue square- a pale blue square
I'd stare and stare when nothing was there
I'd stare at the pale blue squarе
I'd sit in the glare from the palе blue square
Unaware that there was more, elsewhere
The square would beckon from every where
"You're safe with me, come stare"
“you're safe with me, come stare”
(But now) I'm mid-air in a rare somewhere
Between here and there- between here and there
And I swear I don't care
If I ever stare again at the pale blue square
(Because) right out there through the dark despair
Is a sight so fair I could stare and stare!
Take a look, dear heart, at the light so clear
The pale blue square doesn't dare compare
To the sight of the bright blue sphere
