Here's an important date in my life: November 12th, 1925. That’s when we made the first recordings by my own Hot Five. And in that band was: Kid Ory, trombone, Johnny St. Cyr, banjo, guitar, Lil Hardin, who was my fiancé at that time, piano and Johnny Dodds, clarinet. And one of tunes on that very first session in Chicago was my Gut Bucket Blues
