Zae da Blacksmith
Brand New Man
[Verse 1: Zae da Blacksmith]
Ayo, I'm brand new, cleaned and redeemed by the blood of Jesus
A man who was seen as a fiend to the blunts of reefer
I've been picked and drafted, I've switched up masters
I ran fast toward a pit of swift disaster
But at last the Prince of Peace smashed the beef
So I won't get cast off and gnash my teeth
For eternity in a fiery flaming furnace
He paid the wage so He can gracefully take my burdens
At the cross of Christ He died and I died with Him
Three days later He'd rise so I'd rise with Him
Now the old man is dead, so off with his head
Since I've been born again I've got new arms and legs
Such a change is drastic, got the strangest passions
Like obeying my master and praying and fasting
I'm blasting the facts of my new stats and attitude
And I'm not trying to win jack, I practice from gratitude

[Verse 2: Evangel]
I woke from the slumber party of the ungodly
Delivered by grace, living by faith 'til I become late like one tardy
I was one naughty son, haughty ungodly moron
Like an oxymoron, I was a dumb smarty
Doubting His truth, I rejected 'til I checked it
God put the Word together like alphabet soup
Now I read as a disciple, believing what I read to heed
While eagerly awaiting Jesus's arrival
No more leaning like the Eiffel on deceit within an idol
Bible keeps me from sin, sin would keep me from the Bible
I was just a mack in his natural habitat
That couldn't save apple jack, there was no after that
In fact, myself, I felt fine, grace
When Christ's help shined on my life a belt line, waist
This very gracious gift makes this Earth just a timeshare
A temporary place to live
