I wake up and hear him
Black dog in my yard
Scratching at my back door
Get away from me black dog!

He’s there in the morning
Pissing on my rug
Now he’s sniffing in my kitchen
Get away from me black dog!

White lady came calling
She’s looking for her dog
She’s there in my parlour now
She says “Have you seen my little dog?”
“Have you seen my black dog?”

“Oh yes madam I’ve seen him
He’s here, see the hole that he’s dug
And I keep falling in it, and just look at the state of my rug!
Won’t you please take your dog”

“Oh no I’m staying with my dog”
“Won’t you please take your dog?”
“No, don’t you know I’m staying with my dog"
