Dead Armadillo in the Road
There's a dead armadillo in the road
There's a dead armadillo in the road
If it was a fish, we'd flush it down
Then stand and listen to the sound
As it swirled round the commode
There's a dead armadillo in the road
There's a dead armadillo in the street
There's a dead armadillo in the street
I never got to know its name
But I'm saddened just the same
A sour ending to a life so sweet
There's a dead armadillo in the street
I take my hat off my head
And rest it on my heart instead
I look up to the sky
Let out a cry and wonder why
And then when all my tears have been shed
I put my tear-filled hat back on my head
There's a dead armadillo on my stove
There's a dead armadillo on my stove
To leave it there seemed such a waste
And I'm told they have good taste
Worry not, I'm basting it with love
There's a dead armadillo on my stove
There's a dead armadillo on my stove
