The storm has passed and we're feeling all right
And the rain has stopped, the roof is still on tight
When Dorothy passed, I slept by my big sister’s side
And asked if the golden ship would sail Dorothy into the light
Will it greet her up in heaven with everyone she ever knew?

I don’t remember drifting to sleep that night
But I had a thousand dreams before daylight
One where a good bird was teaching me to sing

When I awoke my sister was already gone
But the school bus was beeping, waiting for me to get on

So I opened my mouth and then I started to sing
Just as the good bird told me
