Continental Drift
My heart is a continental drift
It's big ol’ broken pieces going into the abyss
So a waterfall of mighty pain erupts from the core's surface
Draining down my happiness, that was it's only purpose
So the peak of sadness stares at me, with it’s broken gaze within
I said walking without a heart is like living without a limb
Because I'm an automatic, animatronic, fake my feelings friend
Saturated, infatuated, pushed to a dead end
Because the reader of the words will never understand
How the poet must feel when his mind is so bland
So I make the paper talk for me
And I try to make it clear for you to see
Please open me up, and let me scream
Because I'm more than a laugh, and I'm more than a cry
All the stuff that I have, and yet for some reason I still just want to die
I finally tell them and they all just say same
Y'know, emotions are a game
I'm a player and I'm sick of it
I want to put my controller down because I'm filled with so much bewilderment
And I read these shattered notes from a past long gone
And I cry out my empty tears
To the same worn out song
Because I tell you I’m on display on a stage made for stars
I don’t belong here, I mean, trust me, I've tried my best, but it’s so damn hard
So look at me and see the real me
See the kid with dreams, a house with seams breaking through it
A pit of loneliness
Admit to it, admit to your flaws
The cause of your problems, it's you, the things you do
That's your cue, you coward to leave
And make believe to a fairy land far away
Where you can't stay, because you don’t belong in this place
So wipe the smile off your face
Oh, here he comes, he's above all of us
So put him to the front of the bus, the woman have lust
He's the best, put him on an isolating pedestal
Everyone drools, but remember the rules
If you're close to him, be sure to push him away
Because then, maybe, just maybe, you can claim to know him before stardom some day
