The sea unceasingly
Rolled its shingles
Their hair undone
They were gazing at each other
The smell of pine
Sand and thyme
Covered the beach
They were gazing at each other
Without a word

As though they were drinking the water from their faces
And it was as though everything began again
The same innocence was moving them both
Seeing the wonderful
The miraculous
Journey of love

Outside they spent the night
Against each other they slept
Long did the sea cradle them
And when they awoke
It was as if they came into the world
Into the first morning of the world
The sea unceasingly
Rolled its shingles
When they ran in the water
Barefooted
In the shade of the pines
They joined hands
And without a struggle
Fell into the water
Like two birds
Pushed by the warm kiss of their tender mouths
And it was as though everything began again
Life, hope and freedom
