[MALE CUSTOMER, spoken]
Excuse me! I couldn't help noticing that strange and interesting plant. What is it?

[AUDREY, spoken]
It's an Audrey II!

[MALE CUSTOMER, spoken]
I've never seen anything like it before

[SEYMOUR, spoken]
No one has

[MALE CUSTOMER, spoken]
Where did you get it?

[SEYMOUR, spoken]
Well, you remember that total eclipse of the sun a few weeks ago?

(sung)

Da-doo

[SEYMOUR & (CRYSTAL & RONNETE & CHIFFON)]
I was walking in the wholesale flower district that day (Shoop, da-doo)
And I passed by this place where this old Chinese man (Chang, da-doo)
He sometimes sells me weird and exotic cuttings (Snip, da-doo)
'Cause he knows strange plants are my hobby (Da-da da-da-da-da-doo)
He didn't have anything unusual there that day (Nope, da-doo)
And I was about to, you know, walk on by (Good for you)
When suddenly, and without warning, there was this...
[COMPANY]
...total eclipse of the sun!

[SEYMOUR]
It got very dark
And then I heard a strange humming sound like something from another world

[CRYSTAL & RONNETE & CHIFFON]
Da-doo

[SEYMOUR & (CRYSTAL & RONNETE & CHIFFON)]
And when the light came back this weird plant was just sitting there (Oopsie-doo)
Just stuck in, you know, among the zinnias (Audrey II)
I coulda sworn it hadn't been there before
But the old Chinese man sold it to me anyways
For a dollar ninety-five
