About “Crazy Kids” - Commentary
‘Crazy Kids’ is an anthem for people like me, which are all my animals. and so many people in the world that are kinda crazy and we’re not scared to show it, we’re actually kinda proud of it. Like, when we walk by people we’re like, ‘Hide your kids, hide your babies,’ like, ‘These people are crazy, you never know,’ but we’re really like nice, but we’re kinda crazy. And this song is like an anthem about going out and being kinda dope and being kinda crazy. One of my favorite lines in the song is, ‘I’m fresher than that Gucci Them boys, they want my coochie but, no, I ain’t no hoochie.’ One night that was super crazy that helped to inspire the lyrics of ‘Crazy Kids’ was my birthday party that was super dope. It was in LA and all my friends threw me this party in this warehouse downtown and there were trannies and there was that guy from Napoleon Dynamite, Pedro and I made out with a bunch of dudes and it was super dope and at the end of the night, at like 6 in the morning, everybody was leaving and I’d hired a tattoo artist that night so it was like free booze and free tattoos, which is always like a really good combination, so I got inspired by the night and I got the word ‘fun’ on my foot tattooed forever ‘cause I am fun.
