Gentle Light
Snuggled beneath the blanket's weight
Deep night has fallen like an iron gate
Log in the hearth will keep burning until late
Stay by the fire at night
Bask in the gentle light
Pulling the covers up to your chin
Cat on the sill smiles a knowing grin
He purrs to the night and soon a snow begins
Stay by the fire at night
Bask in the gentle light
Steam swirls lazily up
From the mug inside your palm
Sipping slow from the cup
As everything is calm
Take a deep breath as you start to doze
Trees dance in the wind as it quietly blows
Filtering light through your eyelids as they close
Stay by the fire at night
Bask in the gentle light
Swaddled into your chair
With a pillow under head
Silence keeping you there
Where there’s no need for a bed
Snuggled beneath the blanket's weight
Deep night has fallen like an iron gate
Log in the hearth will keep burning until late
Stay by the fire at night
Bask in the gentle light
